Nariz vermelho : fundamentos do Clown na ação da U. T. Riso

Abstract

This work intends to give visibility to the theatrical techniques used by the members of the artistic project Laughter Treatment Unit (UTrIso) in its scenic interaction with patients in the pediatric and oncological areas of the Dr. Osvaldo Leite Oncology Center, annex of General Governador João Alves Filho Hospital, now Sergipe Emergency Hospital, HUSE. The group appropriates the language of clown, since this methodology allows the construction of bonds that allow the expression of spontaneous feelings, and the relationship that is established between the clown and the patient, despite the mishaps involving the dimension of pain. The action of clowns in hospitals is a new reality in the country, increasing the number of initiatives every day, the red nose is their identity. But is it just that the use of the nose reveals a clown? Thus, we discuss in the present work the process of initiation of the actor within a universe that promotes the exposition of ridicule, trying to understand what the contribution of this project to the formation of the artist, which proposes to exercise his art as an office, using the figure of the clown as a way of approaching the sick child, from an artistic view, unrelated to any therapeutic claim.
