Arqueologia pública: o teatro como uma proposta de educação educativa

Abstract

This work aims to elaborate educational actions used to bring people closer to the archaeological universe through theatre, in a playful and interactive way, corroborating with the mission of transmitting knowledge of archaeological studies. Using theatre as an educational tool, we immerse the audience in the cultural aspects that surround them, stimulating a feeling of ownership of their past cultures through contemporary cultural aspects, having in Archaeology, a link between the past and the present. We find that by reducing the distance between Archaeology and the public through emotional stimuli, we can bring to the centre of the discussion, notions of belonging to materiality, making it clear that Theatre is a great vehicle for such a function. With the participation of the public and consequent emotional stimulation, doors were opened where it was possible to raise arguments and information, so that the public could understand and criticize what should or should not be preserved.
