Caracterização da produção de culturas (feijão, milho, mandioca, mamona, sisal) e criação por cabeça de bovino, caprino e ovino) no território do Sisal (Bahia)

Abstract

O Território do Sisal, localizado no semiárido baiano, conhecido por sua elevada produção de sisal, resultante da alta adaptabilidade dessa cultura e a importância da agricultura familiar (96,6%) em relação à patronal. Em função da pouca diversidade edafoclimática existem sérias limitações quanto à diversificação agropecuária. Porém alguns municípios se destacam isoladamente na produção de culturas específicas e/ou criações. Nesta pesquisa objetivou-se caracterizar a produção das culturas de feijão, milho, mandioca, mamona, e da pecuária (bovino, caprino e ovino), do Território do Sisal, gerar documentos, com base em indicadores, para que as instituições de fomento e pesquisa possam entender melhor a realidade local e assim priorizar, com maior efetividade, a relevância e a urgência das ações de pesquisa dentro desse Território. A estatística descritiva foi utilizada para sintetizar o conjunto de valores, permitindo assim uma visão global dos dados. Os dados foram coletados entre o período 1990 e 2010 de instituições governamentais federais e estaduais. A produção por cabeça de bovinos em Tucano, a de caprinos e ovinos em Monte Santo. _________________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT: The territory of Sisal, located in semiarid region in Bahia, known for its high production of sisal, resulting from the high adaptability of this culture and the importance of family agriculture (96.6%) in relation to the employer. Depending on the low diversity edaphoclimatic there are serious limitations on agricultural diversification. However, some municipalities stand out alone in the production of specific cultures and/or creations. This research aimed to characterize the production of crops of beans, corn, cassava, castor oil, and livestock (cattle, goats and sheep), of territory of Sisal, create documents based on indicators for institutions of development and research can better understand the local realities and so prioritize, with more effectiveness, the relevance and the urgency in the research actions into this Territory . Descriptive statistics was used to summarize the set of values, allowing a global view of the data. Data were collected between the period 1990 and 2010 from federal and state government institutions. The production per head of cattle in Tucano, the goats and sheep in Monte Santo.
