O papel das redes sociais na luta contra a intolerância afro-religiosa no Brasil

Abstract

The present work aims to discuss access to the right to religious freedom by religions of African origin: Candomblé and Umbanda, among others. The path followed by Brazilian legislation until the constitutionalization of religious freedom is debated, but which still does not inhibit the religious intolerance suffered by Afro-religiosity. The molds, agents and forms of violence against these religions are unraveled, as well as the legal path already taken by the struggle for the rights of the people of saints. The present work also specifies the occurrence of this violence in the digital environment, studying the mutations resulting from the internetization of things, observing the molds of digital afro-religious intolerance and the coping mechanisms based on social networks. For the accomplishment of the work, a bibliographical and documentary review was carried out, a survey of news published in the media and analysis of secondary data. A mostly Latin American theoretical framework is presented, embodied in the works of Clóvis Moura, Vagner Gonçalves da Silva, Reginaldo Prandi, Ilver de Matos Oliveira, Thiago Hoshino, among others.
